CHRISMAN
Cut Records Magazine
The Cut Records Magazine is a project during my time at Columbia College. The idea came from a previous project where we designed a two-letter logo. In this case, the logo was for a fictional company called Cut Records, inspired by the process of cutting grooves into vinyl records. For the magazine cover, I envisioned a monthly feature on a different up-and-coming band, and I decided to showcase my favorite local band, Junta. The name 'Junta' carries connotations of political groups that seize power by force. My aim was to capture the band's punky, rebellious style while still maintaining the format of an established magazine.
